Gonzales-Gilroy football

Friday's game
Gonzales (0-2) at Gilroy (1-1), 7:30 p.m.
Adjustments are a must on defense for the Spartans, who have allowed 101 points in their first two games this fall.
Platooning quarterbacks has had mixed results for Gonzales. Settling on one might give the offense a little more cohesiveness.
It didn't matter who was behind center last week for receiver Payton Flores, who caught eight passes for 193 yards for the Spartans, whose first four games this year are on the road.
Gilroy bounced back from a season opening four-turnover loss last week with a 49 point outburst in beating Sobrato of Morgan Hill.
Coming off back-to-back three win seasons, the Mustangs haven't faced Gonzales since beating them 70-0 in 2013.
Dylan Holler went over 100 yards rushing in the opener for Gilroy. More touches for Jesus Mendoza might be in order for the Spartans after the tailback rushed for 88 yards on seven carries.
