Palma-Sutter football

Friday's game
Palma (0-0) at Sutter (0-0), 7:30 p.m.
How will a team react after a four plus hour bus ride? It didn't pan out well last year for Sutter, who was beaten 42-12 at Rabobank.
Now it's the Chieftains turn to make the journey. Awaiting them is a team that bounced back from that humbling loss and won the North Coast Section Division III title, reaching the regionals.
Tyler Reynolds threw for nearly 1,700 yards and 19 touchdowns last season as a sophomore for the Huskies and rushed for 530 yards, while Bryce Kunkle rushed for nearly 800 yards as a backup.
As a team, Sutter piled up over 4,000 rushing yards. The 42 points it allowed against Palma was the most all year.
In addition to 25 returning lettermen, Sutter has a core of junior varsity players to choose from that went 10-0 last year, outscoring teams 373-33.
The Huskies struggled last year in stopping tailback Emilio Martinez, who rushed for 218 yards on just 15 carries, scoring three touchdowns.
How well the Chieftains move the ball threw the air could dictate whether Martinez sees eight and nine man fronts.
The defensive effort Palma displayed last year against Sutter might have been its best all season. It will need another big night from the likes of seniors Drew Dalman and Tristan Wahl.

Sutter is in the NORTHERN SECTION....Not NORTH COAST SECTION.
