A win tonight against Monte Vista will give Salinas (7-0-1) a two-game lead with three remaining.
Earlier this year, the Cowboys beat Monte Vista 2-0.
Salinas, which produced 32 goals last year in capturing the programs first league title, already has 34 goals this year behind Taylor Burbank and Brooke Oleson.
Five players have two or more goals, including Valeria Tellez, who has four goals and five assists. Her sister Sophia has been a rock in the cage with six shutouts in her last 10 overall games.
Salinas' defense has allowed just two goals in the first half in league play this season.
