Pacific Grove-Carmel boys hoops

Barring a collapse, the Breakers are headed towards their third straight Mission Trail Athletic League title.
What Carmel can still do is keep Pacific Grove from perfection in the MTAL.
Over the course of the last two years, the Breakers have rattled off 20 straight league wins, with their last league loss coming from Carmel on the site of Friday's battle.
In the teams first meeting on Jan. 13, Pacific Grove held the Padres to an MTAL low 37 points in a 10-point win, outscoring them 18-12 in the fourth quarter.
While containing Carmel's John Stivers is critical, so is not letting someone else on the squad beat you. The  6-foot-5 Stivers is averaging 30.1 points in his last four games.
Pacific Grove has its own scoring demon in Brad Sendell, who is averaging nearly 18 points a game this year.
Four different players have scored 10 or more points in league play for the Breakers, including Zack Miller, who has reached double digits in his last six MTAL games.
