Salinas-Monterey boys hoops

 Goals have changed.
Thoughts of a Gabilan Division title are gone. Instead, both the Cowboys and Monterey are looking for strong finishes to take them into the postseason.
Because both posted winning records during their non-league seasons, each is likely ticketed to the playoffs in their respective divisions.
Salinas has a little momentum riding into Friday's battle after stunning Monte Vista, snapping a four game losing streak in the process.
So do the Toreadores, who behind Kobe Ordonio, stopped a three-game losing skid with a road win at North County on Wednesday.
The Cowboys only other Gabilan Division win this season came in a 61-50 decision over Monterey at 'The Corral'.
Monterey is a different team on their home court, which is slightly smaller than most gym floors, having gone 4-2 this year.
Ordonio comes into the game averaging 19.8 points a game, but was held to 15 points in Monterey's last meeting with Salinas.
Five different players have lead Salinas in scoring this year, with Gavin Rippere dropping in 17 in the teams last game. The 6-foot-4 forward has 33 points and 18 rebounds in his last two games.
