North Salinas-Homestead girls hoops

The road to a third straight Central Coast Section Division I title will have barriers in its path this time, starting Saturday when the Vikings face Homestead at Wilcox High.
Champions of the El Camino Division and owners of 17 straight wins, Homestead was impressive in a 68-30 win over San Benito on Thursday.
Ugochi Anudokem has been a beast in the paint for the Mustangs, averaging 15 points and 12 plus rebounds a night.
Naturalizing the senior can slow down Homestead as no one else on the team is averaging more than five points a game.
The No. 3 seeded Vikings come into the tournament having rattled off nine straight wins in gathering a share of its fourth straight Gabilan Division title.
Jordyn Enos and Alissa Foster have carried the weight offensively most of the season, as the pair are  averaging a combined 21 plus points a game.
Defense catapulted North Salinas to the last two Division I titles. That remains the heart and sole of this program as it has held eight of its last nine opponents under 40 points..
