Palma football

Emilio Martinez didn't need a lot of carries to test his hamstring.
Two in the second half opened a few eyes.
Out for the last four weeks with a hamstring injury that dates back to track season, Martinez turned two carries into 45 and 93 yard touchdown runs.
That doesn't sound like someone still bothered by leg tenderness.
No one is oblivious to the fact that Martinez is a game breaker with his speed an instincts. Opponents have to plan for him.
Depth at the position has enabled the Chieftains to trek forward, having rattled off nine straight wins this fall.
Kevin Telford, who began the year as a third string tailback, got most of the carries on Friday and responded with his second straight 100 plus yard rushing effort.
It's unclear if much will change next week. Nothing wrong with having two capable backs to spell each other.
It's a perk Palma coach Jeff Carnazzo hasn't had this year with injuries saddling his first two backs a combined eight games.
And while Jack Richardson is approaching school passing records, if Palma has visions of playing well into December, or beyond next week, another dimension to the attack never hurts.

Telford didn't come back until recently either. He had a very bad track hamstring injury and although practicing the last few games wasn't utill last week that he got substantial playing time. He will be a factor on both offense and defense next season as well. If not for the injury, he wouldn't have been a mystery. He would start at RB for many good teams if healthy.

Palma will go as far as their defense takes them which needs to improve substantially next game and play better early. Riordan is a quick starter and can bury team early with big play capabilities. Teams down the road are tough to come back on if you get behind. Norcals play in may be tougher than the state bowl game since Northern CA is stacked at the small school level.
