One play never decides a game.
But five misplayed extra points gets your attention.
If for no other reason than Salinas' season ended with a four-point loss to Palo Alto.
So what went wrong?
When kicks are blocked or a two point conversation fails, it doesn't fall on one person.
It wasn't just special teams that struggled in Friday's season ending loss.
The Cowboys gave up a season high 42 points on defense.
While Salinas overcame a 10-point deficit to take a brief lead on Matt Castaneda's sixth touchdown pass, asking the offense to rescue the team one more time came up 12 yards short.
As a result, for the third time this year, Salinas lost a game by five points or less.
