North Salinas has an argument about remaining in the Pacific Division next season should it choose to make a case for itself.
Two thirds of its 30-man roster are seniors.
Yet, the Vikings clearly dominated the Pacific Division this fall, with their closest win being by 18 points.
North Salinas averaged 41 points a game in league play behind junior quarterback Tim Burkhardt, who has accounted for 22 touchdowns going into the postseason.
Its defense, anchored by Armando Armenta, produced six touchdowns, allowing just one touchdown in the last eight quarters.
The average margin of victory in the Pacific Division for the Vikings this fall was 31.1 points. An opportunist secondary intercepted 15 passes, four from JoJo Guzman.
Among the Vikings eight wins was a decision over Alvarez, a member of the Gabilan Division. One of their two losses was to Salinas.
Small rosters have had success in the past in the Gabilan. But it's a challenge when you do not have depth. You're relying on luck to get you through a 10-game season.

And if they end up in the Gabilan this is what is wrong with an "equity" league.
