If you're looking for a non-playoff team to watch next year, keep an eye on the Trojans.
Improvement in the win column in each of the last two years has Alisal headed in the right direction.
The Trojans will build off their strong finish, in which they won their final two games to get to .500, erupting for a season high 31 points in defeating North County.
The Trojans defense was sensational in their five wins, allowing just 45 points.
Yet, it was the offense that made the most progress, particularly quarterback Raul Garncia, who is just a junior.
Garnica became more efficient in his reads in the second half of the season. It won't hurt that Javion Macias will be back to provide balance in the backfield.
Granted, graduation will take some of that talent. But 27 juniors will return, providing a positive outlook for 2016.
