The Lobos will look back on the season and cringe at their inability to take care of business at home, having gone just 1-3 this season.
Jordan Torres did something last week that has been foreign at MPC for three years and that's rush for over 100 yards. The Salinas High grad is also second on the team in receptions (22).
Brandon Sampson has had a special season for the Lobos with 61 catches for nearly 800 yards and five touchdowns.
The Lobos defense has made big strides this year with freshman Andrew Jakubowsky leading the team in tackles with 57. Fellow freshman Anthony McKay has 54 tackles and five sacks.
Eljiah Kirkland and Najee Champagne have been ball hawks with a combined seven interceptions, with Champagne having returned a kickoff 92 yards for a game winning touchdown this fall.
Gavilan may have played its best game in falling 34-17 last week to Hartnell. It has given up 40 or more points five times. It's also winless on the road this year.
Former Monterey High receiver Ryan Reynolds leads the Rams in receptions this fall with 30.
