Saturday's game
Yuba (3-4) at MPC (4-3), 6 p.m.
Sitting two games back with two conference games left means the Lobos will need help down the stretch to keep any postseason hopes alive.
Yuba has been involved in four games decided by five points or less this fall, where it is 2-2. One of those setbacks was to Hartnell.
The Lobos will need to make a defensive adjustment as Yuba is one of the few teams left that runs the ball more than it throws it.
Yuba does have one dynamic receiving threat in Dylan Campbell, who has 42 catches. The rest of the team has a combined 51.
In all three of the Lobos losses, they have been held under 10 points. In their four wins, they have averaged 38.1 points a game.
Keon Marsh has thrown for 1,503 yards this fall for MPC with Brandon Sampson having caught 58 passes. He has over 1,100 multi-purpose yards.
The Lobos just can't get the ground game established, averaging a paltry 2.3 yards a carry. Jordan Torres has been effective out of the backfield as a receiver with 21 catches and two TD's.
Defense has been the strength of this team with Seaside grad Andrew Jakubowsky compiling 48 tackles.
A trio of freshmen have anchored the defense as Alvarez alum Anthony McKay has 47 tackles and five sacks while Salinas grad Elijah Kirkland has 43 tackles and three interceptions.
