Friday's game
Pajaro Valley (3-2) vs. North Salinas (3-2) at Rabobank, 7:30 p.m.
While the Vikings are coming off a season high 35 point eruption, it has been their defense that has carried them in their three wins, allowing just 22 points while scoring three touchdowns.
Ben Organista has two interceptions, having returned one for a touchdown. He also has a team high two sacks and a fumble recovery.
Quarterback Tim Burkhardt has thrown at least one touchdown pass in each of North Salinas' first five games, including a career high three in last week's win.
What the Vikings did well last week was move the ball on the ground, establishing drives and taking time off the clock. Burkhardt and Lawrence Chambers each rushed for 82 yards.
After a promising 3-0 non-league start, Pajaro have been outscored 70-12 in two Pacific Division games.
It has played the last two games without quarterback Jesus Fernandez, who leads the team in rushing and touchdowns, with no interceptions in 43 attempts.
