 The Spartans have put their name into the Pacific Division title chase after knocking off previously unbeaten Alvarez, creating a three-way tie as the halfway point nears.
 A 2-8 non-league record, which included an 0-6 start, did not derail North Salinas, who has bounced back in the Pacific Division.
 Seaside's assault at the net starts with Hailee Suber, who has over 100 kills off of sets from Maura White.
 Yet, the heart of the team has been back row specialist Brittany Aledo, who keeps balls in play that most don't, having compiled a single-match school record for digs (61) earlier this year.
 North Salinas's assault starts with Esmay Nava and Teresa Ochoa while Hannah Harper is among the league leaders in service aces.
