MPC-Cabrillo football

Saturday's game
Monterey Peninsula (2-2) at Cabrillo (1-3), 6 p.m.
The road has been good for the Lobos, who are 2-0 on bus trips this season.
Brandon Sampson had a season in one game last week with a school record 14 catches. The super sophomore has 36 catches for nearly 500 yards on the year.
MPC is struggling on the ground, averaging just 1.6 yards a carry. Last week it was held to 26 yards rushing.
Could we see more of  Kody Steele behind center? The freshman quarterback has five touchdown passes and no picks in 48 attempts this year in limited duty.
Cabrillo is struggling offensively, averaging just 19 points a game after being shutout last week by Hartnell.
Quarterback Brenden Davis has thrown for over 700 yards and eight touchdowns for the Seahawks. The offense, though, has turned the ball over nine times.
Defensively, Andrew Jakubowsky has been a beast at linebacker for the Lobos with a team high 27 tackles while Anthony McKay has four sacks in four games.
Why are teams still throwing in the direction of Najee Champagne, who has two picks and five pass break ups this fall?
The Seahawks defense has created 11 turnovers.
