Saturday's game
West Hills (2-1) at Monterey Peninsula (2-1), 6 p.m.
Having shared the American Golden Coast Conference title with Hartnell last season, West Hills has won both of its games this year on the road.
Freshman quarterback Clem Douglas is completing nearly 60 percent of his passes for 467 yards and two touchdowns for West Hills.
Where West Hills has struggled offensively is taking care of the ball, having turned it over 10 times in three games.
Last week freshman quarterback Kody Steele accounted for all four of MPC's touchdowns in a come from behind win over San Jose City College.
Brandon Sampson had a pair of touchdown receptions last week, and is also a threat as a kickoff and punt returner for the Lobos. MPC is undefeated when Jelahny Garnett catches a touchdown pass.
Defensively, Anthony McKay has been a beast in the trenches for the Lobos while Elijah Kirkland and Andrew Jakubowsky are among the team leaders in tackles.
Last year West Hills rolled to a 40-10 win over MPC enroute to a 10-1 season.
