Monterey football

There's a pattern in the Toreadores three non-league losses.
The second halves of all three games have been brutal.
 A lack depth?
 It's not an excuse.
Monterey has been outscored 56-0 in the second half in its three losses in regulation.
The Toradores are wearing down against bigger teams that are more physical.
It's not going to get any easier as Monterey begins Gabilan Division play this week.
Since carrying the ball 30 times in the Toreadores win over Soquel for 317 yards, Akili Jones has had 32 touches in the teams last two games.
Jones is a difference maker. He needs touches. Yet, because he's also spending time on defense and special teams as a kick returner, he looks spent in the fourth quarter.
On the bright side, Monterey is 1-0 on its turf, playing on Saturday, which is where its next game is.
