Saturday's game
Redwoods (0-1) vs. Hartnell (1-0) at Rabobank, 1 p.m.
Justyn Gutierrez had an auspicious debut behind center for the Panthers, throwing for 288 yards and three touchdowns in a season opening win over Yuba.
You can see why four year colleges are requesting video of receiver Ronnie Turner, who turned four catches into 120 yards and two touchdowns for Hartnell.
Seven different receivers had catches for the Panthers, including Eppy Henrigues, who caught a team high eight passes.
Hartnell does have concerns with a ground game that mustered just 52 yards in its win, averaging 2.5 yards a carry.
Sophomore tailback Marcus Washington is out at least another week for Hartnell after being hit by a car three weeks ago while walking across the street.
Ra'Quanne Dickens was a bright spot for Redwoods in last week's 49-28 loss to MPC, rushing for a career high 158 yards, including a 74-yard touchdown run.
Redwoods was up 28-14 before being outscored 35-0 in the second half. Two different quarterbacks saw action last week.
Defensively, Hildelv Manzur was a beast in the trenches with a team high seven tackles and a sack for Hartnell while Reggie McGee added six tackles and a sack.
