Prior to last weeks 39-point win over Harbor, the Spartans hadn't won a season opener in seven years.
The last time Gonzales opened the year with two straight wins, it landed in the playoffs in 2003.
Quarterback Logan Gomez sparkled in his debut behind center, rushing for two touchdowns while throwing a touchdown pass.
Little went right for the Condors in their opener, falling to SAC Joaquin Section power Manteca 55-0.
Keep in mind it's on the job training for North County, who didn't have an off-season to prepare, having not hired a new coach until July.
Last fall a late fourth quarter rally from Gonzales fell short in a 27-21 lost at North County. Both the Condors and Gonzales bounced back from 0-10 seasons in 2013 to go 5-5 last season.
