The Lobos let one get away last week when giving up 14 points in 62 seconds in the fourth quarter of a 14-7 home loss to Los Medanos.
San Jose has struggled to generate any sort of offense, having compiled 342 yards in total offense in an 0-2 start. Defensively, it has forced seven turnovers.
After erupting for 49 points in its season opener -- 35 in the fourth quarter-- the only points last week for MPC came on a Eljiah Kirkland 94 yard interception return.
The Lobos defense has been outstanding over the last six quarters as Palma grad Adrian Valdez leads the team in tackles with 13 followed by Seaside alum Andrew Jakubowsky.
Brandon Sampson and Marina grad Brian Hunt have become quarterback Keon Marsh's primary targets of late, combining for 18 catches for 280 yards.
Marsh has thrown touchdown passes to five different players, including former Salinas tailback Jordan Torres, who has 119 receiving yards and 102 rushing yards for the Lobos.
Last year MPC beat San Jose 34-25.
