Football Tour XVI (Stevenson)

Stevenson (5-4, 3-4)
Quietly the program has put together three straight winning seasons.
While it hasn't been enough to warrant a playoff spot -- a streak that now stretches to 15 years -- the Pirates have been on the fringe.
Taking that next step is a goal, not a dream.
Stevenson has some offensive options with Casey Mornhinweg becoming the full-time quarterback and Read Reynolds stepping into the backfield.
Mornhinweg saw minimal action behind center last fall as a sophomore. Reynolds split time between quarterback and running back, but was more effective running the ball.
Having them both on the field is a plus for the Pirates, who also return juniors Kenny Pich and Will Lansbury, the teams top two receivers last year.
Depth is always a concern when your roster hovers around 25 players on a good year.
For the third straight year, Stevenson will only play nine games, choosing to use the first two weeks of the season as bye weeks.
The results have been encouraging as the program has gone 2-0, 4-0 and 3-0 to start the season over the last three years.
The Pirates defense -- anchored by senior linebacker Brennan Mornhinweg, held four teams under 10 points last year.
