Projected finishes

Mission Trail Athletic League
1. Carmel: A potent ground game will keep its new look defense more rested.
2. Pacific Grove: The reigning MTAL champs have championship caliber defense.
3. Soledad: A talented offensive line could open some big holes this fall.
4. King City: Will be more committed to running the ball this season.
5. Stevenson: For the third straight year, the Pirates will not open the season until Week 3.
6. Gonzales: Will look to build off last year's first .500 season in 11 years.
7. Greenfield: A more athletic looking team also got a bump in roster size.
8. Marina: Marina was one play away from winning three games last year.

Monterey Bay League
Gabilan Division
1. Palma: High aspirations are nothing new at Palma.
2. San Benito: A team you don't want to play when November rolls around.
3. Salinas: One of its strengths last year was its overall depth.
4. Alvarez: The Eagles have turned the ball over just six times in two years.
5. Monterey: Losing a two-year starting quarterback is a big blow.
6. Christopher: Don't sleep on the newest member of the Gabilan Division.
7. Monte Vista: Didn't fair well in its first appearance in the Gabilan in 2013.

Pacific Division
1. North Salinas: Adjusting to a new system and coach won't be an issue this fall.
2. Seaside: The last time the Spartans came off a losing season, they won a league title.
3. Alisal: Might be the most improved team in the county this season.
4. Gilroy: Hasn't beaten a team with a winning record in four years.
5. North County: Getting coach Sean Gomes back will solidify a proud program.
6. Watsonville: Held to a touchdown or less in five games last year.
7. Pajaro Valley: Coaching alone will improve the Grizzlies program.

Pretty good preseason ranking. In Gab, Christopher could be a surprise and MVC may not be at the bottom. Will be interesting to see Monterey without Aldrete and new offense under brown. Surprised they are running spread when Wilcox was a traditional run offense.

Palma v Hollister is going to be one to see this season. I think Hollister will start faster this year than last year. North Monterey County has a really tough match up in its early non-league schedule. Manteca will be the toughest game on its schedule and already played a game which is a tough way to start the season.
