Over the last 10 years, Harbor has faced six of the eight Mission Trail Athletic League teams at least once in the preseason, posting a 7-16 overall mark.
The last time the Spartans and Harbor played was in 2004, with the Pirates relying on their defense in a 13-3 decision.
The first quarter was brutal for Harbor last season as it was outscored 101-38. It also lost its two best skilled players to graduation.
Gonzales is coming off its first .500 or better season in 11 years. Its defense has two marquee players back in the fold in linebacker Ryan Avila and pass rushing demon Isaac Madrigal.
No team was more balanced offensively last year than the Spartans, who rushed for 1,751 yards and threw for 1,769 yards.
