 Now that the pressure to reach the state meet is out of the way, perhaps the King City junior can just let the discus fly at Friday's State track and field championships in Clovis.
 McEnroe unleashed the discus 147-7 at the CCS finals to finish third. But he has a best of 160-3, set four weeks ago.
 For McEnroe, this is an opportunity to learn and grow while competing against the best in the state -- and chase a personal record with an eye on next year.
