Devin Pearson

The former Carmel High three-sport star went from hitting under .200 in 2014 to a team high .355 this past spring for the Cal baseball team.
Pearson, who told Major League Baseball teams he was going back to Cal for his senior year, also led the team in doubles with 12 -- despite missing 19 games with a broken hand.
On the season, the right-handed slugging right fielder hit four home runs and drove in 22 runs while scoring 27 runs in 38 games. He sported a .986 fielding percentage.
Pearson was a two-time Herald Male Athlete of the Year.
