Aragon-Soledad baseball

CCS Division II baseball playoffs
Wednesday's game, 4 p.m.
No. 14 Aragon (17-12) at No. 3 Soledad (22-5)
A Mission Trail Athletic League title wasn't the only goal for the Aztecs. A shot at the school record for wins and a section title are still out there.
Playing at home is big for Soledad, who is 10-1 in the windy city this year. Daniel Farfan has lived up to his MVP billing of 2014 with 42 hits in 27 games, including three homers.
The Aztecs have a lineup filled with impact hitters as Jordan Morrison has 42 hits while Nathaniel Villarreal has 41 and Joseph Ramirez 38.
Farfan and Villarreal have also been clutch on the mound for Soledad down the stretch, propelling the program to just its second MTAL title.
Aragon was second in the Peninsula Ocean Division this year, going 5-2 down the stretch, with both losses being by one run.
The Dons have struggled on the road at 8-10. While pitcher Chad Franquez is just 3-5, he sports a 1.65 earned run average.
