Harker-Pacific Grove boys hoops

CCS Division IV quarterfinals
Saturday's game
No. 5 Harker (16-9) vs. No. 4 Pacific Grove (18-5) at Kaiser Arena, 3:15 p.m.
The Breakers stayed sharp during a nine day layoff by scrimmaging Palma earlier this week. The Mission Trail Athletic League champions come into the playoffs riding a 10-game winning streak.
What's been impressive during Pacific Grove's run is its defense, which has held seven of its last eight opponents under 35 points.
Offensively sophomore Brad Sendell has been among the best in the MTAL, averaging 15.8 points a game.
Where the Breakers got a surge came with the arrival of sophomore foreign exchange student Erol Ersek, who has solidified the defense and given the team another offensive weapon.
Fourth place finishers in the West Bay Athletic League, Harker is lead by 6-foot-4 forward Eric Holt, who is averaging 17.4 points and 9.5 rebounds a night.
Look for the 6-4 Ersek to draw the assignment of guarding Holt.
