Saturday's match
Division IV
Carmel (26-2) at Menlo (20-14), 7 p.m.
The Knights, who opened the playoffs by sweeping King City, are no strangers to the postseason, having won seven Division IV titles in the last 16 years.
Co-champions of the West Bay Foothill League with Harker, Menlo has four players with over 110 kills this year, including 6-foot-1 outside hitter Lida Vandermeer, who has 288.
The same can be said for the Mission Trail Athletic League champion Padres in terms of balance at the net, as five players have over 100 kills.
Amber Clark stepped up in Carmel's sweep of Mercy-Burlingame with 12 while Chantal Waite had eight kills and six blocks.
Senior setter Kaylee Arthur has spread the ball around equally, keeping opponents from doubling up on any of the Padres attackers.
Carmel, who broke the single season school record for wins this year with 26, has never played past the quarterfinals of the Division IV playoffs.
