Saturday's match
Division V
Alma Heights (13-16) at Notre Dame (26-6), 7 p.m.
It's not Notre Dame's fault that it's in Division V. The playoffs are based strictly on enrollment for volleyball.
So why not make the most of it.
The top seeded Spirits are coming in with a lot of momentum, having ended Salinas' 51-game league winning streak, as well as capturing the Silver Division of the Spikefest Tournament.
Of course, the Spirits haven't played a match in eight days. So there could be some rust to shake off.
Alma Heights won the Private School North League with a 12-0 record. Sabrina Bermudez compiled 186 kills this fall for the Eagles.
The Spirits dynamic duo of Emily Cunanan and Nikki DeSerpa have been a potent combination at the net for setter Chanel Enz to get the ball to.
Yet, Notre Dame has appeared more balanced at the net of late with Jennifer Lane and Kate Lathos getting their swings in, while Julia Scattini has been a rock in the back row.
