Hartnell-MPC football

Saturday's game
Hartnell (5-1) at MPC (3-3), 6 p.m.
Over the last five years, either the Panthers or MPC have won or captured the conference title.
Tonight both teams are in survival mood, battling to keep their postseason hopes alive.
Hartnell, which is still second in the state in points per game at 46, looked significantly different with Ronnie Turner lined up at receiver last week.
The 6-foot-4 freshman, who was limited in his last two games because of a knee injury, caught six passes for 150 yards and three touchdowns.
Turner has seven touchdown catches on just 14 receptions this year.
The Lobos are undefeated at home this fall and winless on the road. Quarterback Kean Marsh is completing 61 percent of his passes for nearly 1,500 yards.
Joseph Jakubowsky and David Hightower have combined for 72 catches for nearly 1000 yards and five touchdowns for MPC.
The Lobos defense has recorded 12 turnovers while the Panthers have 16, four interceptions from Nias Martin.
Both Hartnell and MPC have loses to conference rival Merced, who is undefeated in the American Golden Coast Conference.
