Carmel football

Remember when the Padres started 0-2 and a lot of people speculated that they weren't very good.
Of course, the two teams Carmel fell too still happen to be the top two teams in the area to date.
Since then, Carmel has rattled off five straight wins.
Of course, now it's because the MTAL isn't very strong.
You can make that case.
But Carmel was competitive in both losses to Palma and Salinas. Oh, the scores don't indicate it.
We forget that the Padres held a first half lead against Palma and an early third quarter lead over Salinas.
This is also a program that beat Christopher, who hasn't lost to anyone else.
Don't penalize a program for being aggressive and attempting to improve itself against quality opponents.
We will learn more about Carmel when it faces Pacific Grove in the season finale. One of those teams will likely get a Top 3 seed out of Division IV.
