Willow Glen-Palma football

Friday's game
Willow Glen (1-1) vs. Palma (2-0) at Rabobank, 7:30 p.m.
The Chieftains defense went five straight quarters before giving up a point in the second half last week to St. Francis.
Eduardo Barbosa has been a pillar in the trenches for Palma on a defense that has four turnovers this year, including interceptions from Zach Barry and Adrian Valdez.
The two teams are similar in a run first mentality. Last week Willow Glen was efficient in throwing the ball, completing 7-of-9 attempts.
Two running backs rushed for over 100 yards in last week's 33-7 win over Saratoga, including senior Hakeem Mays, who averaged nearly eight yards each time he touched the ball.
The hope was to limit sophomore Emilio Martinez's carries. Yet, after two games, he has 55 carries and all four rushing touchdowns for the Chieftains.
In fact, Martinez has scored all of Palma's touchdowns this year, catching a 44-yard scoring strike last week from quarterback Jack Richardson, who has yet to toss a pick in 38 attempts.
Palma has not turned the ball over this year.

Willow Glen is an above average team, but their offense probably not a great matchup with Palma defense. They are small on the line although decent skill players. Palma offense is also going to give WG problems. Will be surprised if close, but Palma have to play good. WG will be competitive in their league which looks a little down this year.
