Salinas-Sacred Heart Prep football

Friday's game
Salinas (1-1) at Sacred Heart Prep, Atherton (2-0), 3:30 p.m.
Division IV state runner-ups last year, the Gators return junior quarterback Mason Randall, who has completed over 70 percent of his passes this fall.
Sacred Heart hopes to have back all-state linebacker Ben Burr-Kirven this week, who has been out with an injury.
Last year the 200 pound linebacker created havoc in postseason wins over Seaside, Monterey and Pacific Grove. He's a difference maker.
The Cowboys new look offense found its rhythm in last week's 61-point uprising over Carmel as quarterback Zach McDermott accounted for 391 total yards and five touchdowns.
Effectively throwing the ball through the air has soften up opponents' front seven, enabling Bruce Leighton to chalk up back-to-back 100 yard rushing efforts behind that athletic offensive line.
The Gators are a ball control offense that likes to chew up the clock and wear down teams, keeping that defense fresh.

I think this could be a very good game this year. SHP plays excellent defense but Salinas seems to have balance this year so far to keep them honest. While SHP will be missing their best player on both sides of the ball, Salinas will need to play good defense as they have a good QB and a couple RBs that have stepped up. I will check this game out
