San Jose-MPC football

Saturday's game
San Jose City (0-2) at Monterey Peninsula (1-1), 6 p.m.
After being shutout in their season opener, the Jaguars responded with a 41-point uprising in beating Reedley last week.

Defensively, Khari Vanderbilt has eight tackles for losses, two fumble recoveries and an interception for the Jaguars.
Still stinging from blowing a 16 point fourth quarter lead last week on the road, MPC is averaging 37.5 points a game.
Quarterback Keon Marsh has thrown for nearly 600 yards in two games for the Lobos, hitting 10 different receivers, including Seaside grad Joseph Jakubowsky (15 catches).
Jakubowsky, David Hightower and Jameel Kirkland all have 10 or more catches for 489 yards and four touchdowns.
Kicker Alex Elterman has kicked four field goals this year for the Lobos and leads the team in total points with 21.
Defensively, Kamen Dowdell-White has 13 tackles and 4.5 sacks for MPC, who is plus two in turnover ratio.
