The game is still 24 hours away.
Still, facing San Benito on Saturday has created a buzz.
The Breakers are the reigning two-time CCS Division III champions, unbeaten in the Mission Trail Athletic League over the past two years.
San Benito is running off with the Gabilan Division title, having beaten the likes of then nationally ranked Valley Christian earlier this year.
Pacific Grove hasn't always gotten the respect it deserves from its peers because the MTAL isn't regarded as a strong league.
I don't think one game will change anything.
But this game might mean more to Pacific Grove than San Benito. A loss and the critics come out of the woodworks.
Either way, this is a good tune-up for both teams prior to the playoffs. And that is the reason both coaches wanted this game.
