Monterey-Watsonville softball

All games are significant from this point on if the Toreadores have aspirations of competing for a Pacific Division title.
Don't be misled by Monterey's 11-1 win over Watsonville in the teams' first meeting.
Since then the Wildcatz might be the most improved team in the league, having gone 7-2, with losses  to CCS power San Benito and Pacific Division-leading North County.
Samantha Sakai has gotten hot at the plate, as 13 of her team-leading 26 hits have gone for extra bases.
Few teams have had an answer for Monterey sophomore Gina Bruno, other than walking her.
Bruno has ripped six home runs and driven in 35 runs in the Toreadores' first 18 games. Teammate Ashley Brady has 10 multiple-hit games.
