Monterey baseball

The Toreadores aren't wasting time getting their feet wet this spring, facing nationally ranked Valley Christian of San Jose tonight in the Hazlett-Wilcox Tournament at Washington Park.
Shutout in their opener by San Benito, the Warriors have not produced a run in their last 14 innings, dating back to last year's playoff loss.
Monterey opened the season with some late game dramatics, using a walk-off, run scoring single from Jack Tarallo to beat Harbor 4-3.
The Toreadores should have shortstop Carter Aldrete penciled in the lineup. Aldrete hasn't stepped on the field yet this year because of an extended basketball season that ended Saturday.
The sophomore has already taken unofficial visits to USC and UCLA for baseball.
