A program with a lot of expectations before the season started is now in jeopardy of falling out of the MTAL title chase two weeks into the season.
An 0-4 start would be crippling for the Mustangs. No team has ever started 0-4 and bounced back to win the MTAL title.
Now the Mustangs are on the road at unbeaten Carmel, a place where they are 1-11 over the last 10 years.
While the Padres are a cast of unknowns, the core of King City's lineup from last year is back.
So what is wrong?
Well, it had 11 walks in one loss and six errors in another. This is a veteran team with some talent. That should not be happening.
