The Shoe

Let the hype begin.
Seven days of talking about someones crusty shoe that's been bronzed for over five decades begins now.
This is not the first time Carmel and Pacific Grove have played for 'The Shoe' with a Mission Trail Athletic League title at stake.
Yet, it is believed to be the first time that the two teams are both 9-0 at the same time.
The Breakers survived a scare on Friday, rallying for 14 points in the fourth quarter to defeat King City 42-41.
Carmel is 9-0 for the third time in five years under head coach Golden Anderson, averaging a record pace 48 points a game.
Don't look for defense to dictate the outcome.
Both teams are averaging over 42 points a game and are vulnerable on defense.
Expect a record amount of points on Pacific Grove's fast synthetic field this coming Friday in what could be a record crowd.
