A look back at Winter Sports

Not only is Alisal the defending MBL Gabilan Division and Central Coast Section Division I boys soccer champion, but it's also unbeaten in its last 32 games -- and was nationally ranked last winter.
A player to watch this season is Carmel's Max Yeater, who distributed the ball to a tune of 18 assists last year.
Behind MTAL Forward of the Year Kelly Smith, Stevenson shared the MTAL girls soccer title last year with Santa Catalina. Smith has 48 goals over the last two years.
For the first time in four years, Palma will be playing without Noah Allen, who is at UCLA. Ronnie Turner inherits the mantle of player to watch this season for Seaside.
The top sharpshooter from outside the 3-point arc returns in Greenfield's Rudy Amezcua while John Stivers was the MTAL's Player of the Year last year as a freshman for league champion Carmel.
Edric Gamble and Lanier King are two players to keep an eye on this year at Alvarez.
North Salinas closed last season with nine straight wins to capture the girls Gabilan Division basketball title.
The MTAL will have a different look with league Pacific Collegiate no longer in the league.
King City and Pacific Grove figure to battle for supremacy in the MTAL in wrestling while Palma, Monterey  and San Benito are among the elite teams in the CCS along with reigning section champion Gilroy.
