 The Eagles were impressive at the Salinas Jamboree as quarterback Edrick Gamble was elusive out of the pocket, firing a pair of touchdown passes, as well as darting 45 yards for one.
 Alvarez has a different look and attitude this fall. There's no confusion on what's going on as players have bought into head coach David Bottom.
 Gonzales looked good on defense at the South County Jamboree last Friday and showed flashes on offense.
 Both teams struggled offensively in the first quarter last year, combining for just 21 points.
 The biggest different between these two teams is depth. Several Spartans will be going both ways while the Eagles have 56 players.
