Jonathan Tuiolosega of Seaside was the only wrestler among the eight local qualifiers to gather a first round bye in Friday's State Wrestling championships in Bakersfield.
Tuiolosega, the Central Coast Section heavyweight champion, will face Kenneth Clark of Carter in the second round.
First round matchups include CCS champion Kodiak Sauer of Carmel facing Ritchie Brandt of Bullard at 182 pounds, while Palma's Ryan Sarimento will match up with Jacob Pedraza of Hanford West.
Hildelv Manzur of Palma, who fell to Tuiolosega in the section HVY finals, will face Brett Kimball of Nipomo.
Teammate Hunter Rehbein will match up with Andrew Brennan of Summerville at 106 pounds. King City's Luis Quintero (145) will face Southern Section champion Christian Walthen or Orland.
Alisal's Jovan Villalobos (152) will meet San Francisco section champion John Ong while the Trojans Oscar Mendez (160) will line up against North Coast section champion Victor Pereira.

Manzur met up with #1 wrestler in state in third match (last years state champ and #4 or #5 in Nation Nick nevellis Clovis) in Round 3. Manzur had a tough seed because he placed #2 in CCS. Nevillis of Clovis was the first freshman ever in Heavyweight to win state championship in CA. He's heavy favorite to win again. Manour had a tough seed. He has a good shot in consolation round and could play in for a medal. Consolation bracket can in as high as #3 in state. If he wins 3 more he is in for a medal. His first match tomorrow, he should win. He has to win 5 tomorrow to get 3rd position (a very tough thing to do).
Hunter rehbein may be out of th competition with two losses as is Sarmiento who lost his first two matches.Palma had tough day.
SeasidesHwt lost his second match (but had bye first round) and is in consolation bracket. Opposite bracket as Manzur. Both have to win 3 matches tomorrow for a medal, and ultimately they could face each other if they win out (5th match). Tough way to go in consolation.
