Senior Arthur Caldwell called it a great season after the Cowboys year came to an end on Wednesday in the CCS Division I semifinals.
And you know what, he was right.
Expectations soar when you're coming off a TCAL title and undefeated league season.
But the bottom line is Salinas was a completely different team this year. Caldwell was the only returning starter from that title team in 2011.
Yet, Salinas won 21 games and reached the Division I semifinals, beating defending champion Santa Teresa in the process.
I don't think Salinas overachieved. But I'm not sure anyone expected them in the semifinals.
