Talk about trial by fire.
North Salinas' first four TCAL games came against two teams that are undefeated in league play in San Benito and Salinas.
The next two are against Palma.
These are arguably the three best teams in the county, let alone the TCAL.
Yet, one inning is the difference in North Salinas being 2-2 instead of 0-4.
The Vikings squandered a 2-0 lead to Salinas by giving up five in the sixth in a 5-2 loss.
And North Salinas couldn't hold a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the seventh on Tuesday in falling to the reigning six-time league champion Balers 3-2.
This program is close to turning the corner.
