One thing Stephen Ventimilia, Devin Pearson and Carmeron Neff all have in common besides being selected all-state in baseball last week, is the trio are also talented football players.
Ventimilia, a recent Monterey graduate, made his decision as a junior, choosing to accept a scholarship to the University of Hawaii to play baseball.
Pearson, who will be a highly touted senior quarterback at Carmel this fall, is leaning towards football as two Pac 12 schools have paid him a visit.
Neff is just a junior at Palma. But his size (6-feet-4 and still growing) makes him attractive in football and baseball. Neff can hit and seldom strikes out. I'm not sure if catcher is his best position.

Pearson is an incredible athlete who also seems to have it together in the classroom. Interesting to see where he ends up.
Does the stud Monterey linebacker play baseball as well? One of the best 2-3 football players in the county.
Jack Ross is another very good baseball and football player. His potential is unlimited in baseball. Should have at least been on all state underclass team.
Have heard rumors that Neff is hitting high 80's this summer at showcases. Imagine what he might do in 2 more years? Hell of a tight end too.
Fun times ahead for area HS sports.
I can't wait to see what Pearson can do this season. He can definitely play at the next level. He is a very talented athlete that can play a variety of positions on the field. But i really hope he can continue to play QB at the next level.
The Monterey LB is a stud. Can easily be one of the area's most dominating defensive players.
Also can't forget Lopez from NC. It'll definitely be interesting to see if he can pick up the slack from his inexperienced and unproven teammates.
Another guy to watch out for is Jacobowsky from seaside. He is another one of those talented athletes that always seems to come out of seaside. Seaside will have to lean on him to carry them.
