Monterey
Remember when the Monterey faithful were calling for head coach Tom Newton's head after being blown out by Carmel back in September?
Funny how an nine-game winning streak changes people's perception — or at least silences the critics until the next loss.
The Toreadores rode the legs of record-setting tailback John-Wyatt Williams to a Monterey Bay League title and a spot in the CCS Division III championship game.
All Williams did was rush for over 2,300 yards and score 28 touchdowns, including two consecutive games of 300 or more rushing yards.
Grade: A.
