You have to wonder if this group put too much pressure on itself. A beefed up non-league schedule was suppose to prepare them for a state run. Instead, Seaside limped into the playoffs and exited in the first round.
Losing tailback Jovahn Lualemana five games into the year devastated this team more than it wanted to admit. The reigning CCS Division III champion Spartans abandoned the running game.
While quarterback Ronald Saxton rose to the challenge by putting up record-breaking numbers, the Spartans were never the same team, particularly on defense.
Grade: C plus.
