A switch in positions for Smith

Green Bay offensive lineman Evan Smith, a rookie backup guard last year, was used at center in the Packers last preseason game.
The 6-foot-2, 308-pound Smith, a Salinas High graduate, made the Packers roster last season as an undrafted free agent, the only non-drafted rookie to make the 2009 team.
Smith started at all five line positions during his collegiate career at Idaho State, and one game at tight end, setting a school record with 44 starts.
