Based on statistics, the Giants have the worst offense in baseball. Yet, if the season ended today, they would be the wild card team in the National League — with the leagues second best record.
Pitching, though, will only take you so far over 162 games. If they don't add a bat after the all-star break, this team will fad. But please, Adam Dunn is not the answer.
A's outfielder Matt Holliday is out there. The Indians are fading. Grady Sizemore could be available, although his inflamed elbow is a concern. The trouble is a lot of teams are still very much in playoff contention.
With that pitching staff, if the Giants make the playoffs, they are the most dangerous team over a seven-game series.
