Quarterback Matt Castaneda began his senior season, throwing for a career high five touchdowns for Willamette University.
The former Salinas High standout compiled nearly 400 yards in total offense, throwing for 276 yards while rushing for a team high 80 in Willamette's season opening loss to LaVerne.
Castaneda has thrown for 3,387 yards and 22 touchdowns in two full seasons at Willamette, while rushing for 751 yards and seven touchdowns.
Castaneda accounted for 35 touchdowns as a senior at Salinas in 2015, setting a single-season school record for touchdown passes with 29.
